Pottery Workshop
For the pottery we will get stuck into building with our hands. Starting with a pinch pot we will connect with the material and understand how the pressure from our fingertips can change the form and texture of the clay.
We will then work with the process of coiling to build vase forms. Whether this be sculptural or functional is up to the maker.
We will then take our drawings from the creative mindfulness session and translate these onto clay using coloured slips and paper.
Creative Mindfulness
Creative Mindfulness is a combination of mindful-meditative practices and experimental drawing techniques. Created for those of us with busy brains and stressful lives, the pencil acts as an anchor to help us focus on the mindful practices and quiet your mind.
Throughout the session you will be guided on a journey through your senses, allowing you to fully be in the moment and experience the world around you in a new way. It will allow you to connect to yourself, to feel grounded, rejuvenated and relaxed.
You will then join me on a short mindful walk through the stunning Oxfordshire countryside to feel more grounded and be inspired by the nature around us.
Included in the ticket
- All materials for the workshops.
- Lunch and drinks (please let us know of any dietary requirements)
- Glazing and firing of your pottery - this will be done post workshop, your pieces will be ready to collect 2 weeks later (postage is available for a fee).

How it’s made
How it’s made
All ceramics are handmade in our pottery studio in Berkshire, UK. The pottery is made in small batches of around 30 pieces and is carefully formed over a two day period. After the pieces have dried for a week, they are then fired to 1000 degrees Celsius in our kiln. We then mix the glazes from powders before dipping and pouring the ceramics to create beautiful glaze patterns. The ceramics is then fired again to 1260 degrees Celsius.
ing traditional craftsmanship with a modern aesthetic, we bring an art form that’s centuries-old into the present day.
At Charlotte Manser Ceramics, we take pride in using renewable materials and practices to minimize our impact on the environment. By choosing to invest in our products, customers not only acquire one-of-a-kind pieces of pottery, but also support a small business with a mission to create a more ethical future.
