My name is Charlotte, and I am a potter, and the founder of Charlotte Manser Ceramics, a British, independent ceramics brand. We are proud to be a sustainable, rural pottery business based in Berkshire, with an all female team. In the last two years we have tripled in turnover and scaled significantly to now having a 2600sqft pottery studio, 5 members of staff and many customers worldwide. We recently collaborated with music artist, John Legend through Etsy and have become known on social media (20K followers) for showing the reality of life at a pottery studio, often speaking about the slow craft movement and how I have grown passion into my business.

I receive many requests from businesses who would like to gain a further understanding of Etsy and utilise it as one of the biggest selling platforms for small businesses.

In 2024, Charlotte Manser Ceramics made £132,000 worth of sales on Etsy alone and in 2025 so far, we have made £30,000 in 2 months.

Whether you have an Etsy shop or plan on setting one up, this online workshop should help you gain an understanding of how to use the platform and hopefully how to get sales!

How it’s made

All ceramics are handmade in our pottery studio in Berkshire, UK. The pottery is made in small batches of around 30 pieces and is carefully formed over a two day period. After the pieces have dried for a week, they are then fired to 1000 degrees Celsius in our kiln. We then mix the glazes from powders before dipping and pouring the ceramics to create beautiful glaze patterns. The ceramics is then fired again to 1260 degrees Celsius.

ing traditional craftsmanship with a modern aesthetic, we bring an art form that’s centuries-old into the present day.

At Charlotte Manser Ceramics, we take pride in using renewable materials and practices to minimize our impact on the environment. By choosing to invest in our products, customers not only acquire one-of-a-kind pieces of pottery, but also support a small business with a mission to create a more ethical future.

Care

Ceramics are fired to 1260 degrees and therefore are suitable to be microwaved or washed in a dishwasher.

Glaze

Each piece is unique and will have different markings within the glaze which are to be embraced.
