Day Retreat: Pottery and Floristry
Day Retreat: Pottery and Floristry
Join us for a blissful day retreat with Charlotte Manser Ceramics and Coffee and Flowers in the beautiful Berkshire countryside.
We will start our day with a warm welcome and a 2 hour pottery class where we will imprint flowers and textures into clay before creating unique and functional forms. All ceramics will be fired post workshop and will be glazed to ensure they are food safe, dishwasher proof and ready to be loved for a lifetime. We will work with hand-building techniques to explore the materiality of the clay and the delicacy of the flowers.
Afterwards we will enjoy a delightful lunch from Little Grazey and take a leisurely countryside walk to soak up the local farmland (weather permitting). Our afternoon will be fully immersed in the art of floral design.
Hosted by Sherylee from Coffee and Flowers, this floral workshop will offer the perfect opportunity to explore your creative side through flower arranging. During the session, Sherylee will share expert tips on achieving form and balance to create aesthetically pleasing arrangements. You'll also gain insights into the backgrounds of various flowers and foliage, learning how to condition them to ensure their longevity. This hands-on workshop invites you to craft your own floral creations, which you will take home to enjoy. With proper care, your beautiful arrangements should flourish for at least two weeks!
Indulge in your creative spirit and unwind in the tranquil setting of this idyllic retreat.

How it’s made
How it’s made
All ceramics are handmade in our pottery studio in Berkshire, UK. The pottery is made in small batches of around 30 pieces and is carefully formed over a two day period. After the pieces have dried for a week, they are then fired to 1000 degrees Celsius in our kiln. We then mix the glazes from powders before dipping and pouring the ceramics to create beautiful glaze patterns. The ceramics is then fired again to 1260 degrees Celsius.
ing traditional craftsmanship with a modern aesthetic, we bring an art form that’s centuries-old into the present day.
At Charlotte Manser Ceramics, we take pride in using renewable materials and practices to minimize our impact on the environment. By choosing to invest in our products, customers not only acquire one-of-a-kind pieces of pottery, but also support a small business with a mission to create a more ethical future.
