Care
Ceramics are fired to 1260 degrees and therefore are suitable to be microwaved or washed in a dishwasher.
How it is made
All ceramics is handmade in my pottery studio in South Fawley, Berkshire. The pottery is made in small batches of around 30 pieces and if carefully formed over a two day period. After the pieces have dried for a week, they are then fired to 1000 degrees Celsius in my kiln. I then mix my glazes from powders before dipping and pouring the ceramics to create beautiful glaze patterns. The ceramics is then fired again to 1260 degrees Celsius.
Charlotte Manser Ceramics offers customers a chance to experience, invest and enjoy handmade ceramics. Objects are made with traditional processes and with a sustainable philosophy at heart. With pottery made for the home, and sculptures made for galleries and gardens, there is a variety of choice on offer.
An Eco- friendly business
I strive to ensure my business is an eco-friendly and sustainable one. All of the failed pieces or cracked pots (before firing) will be recycled and reformed into usable clay again. I will only fire my kiln when it is full, to ensure I am using as little electricity as possible. I will also buy all materials in bulk. Whilst clay does come in bags, these are made from recycled plastic and can be recycled. Orders are also packed using paper tape, cardboard boxes and corn starch packing peanuts. I hope my decisions in how I run my business make a small impact!
